Musica
Experimenting with uploading some video I took. Area under construction.
The name of this band is la Sabrosa Sabrosura. They were in Tulum for a couple of months when I was living there. They play a sort of electro salsa funky fusion of styles that'll get your ass moving and your foot tapping. They were very popular wherever and whenever they played. Everybody was very smitten with the woman singer, including myself. In "real life," she's quite down to earth and very gracious and genuine. Very lovely young woman.
And then she gets onstage...and fills the room with a larger than life, healthy, sensual exuberance that makes everyone smile.

El Son del Barrio
This is another group that was around town towards the end of my stay - El Son del Barrio. A Mexican, a Cuban and a Puerto Rican form the foundation of the band as they were fond of pointing out. Naturally, the rhythmic result is something they called...Cumbia Reggae. This was shot during an experimental phase in Tulum wherein they blocked off the frontage streets to traffic and as a result, resaurants and clubs would put their tables - and entertainment - out into the street (EDIT: same band, different location - other video was not working). The idea needs some fine tuning and further thought, but it was a step in a nice direction. Video and audio quality suffered a bit during conversion as it was a huge file. Still, the music is pretty nice and offers a taste of what I was hearing and experiencing.
It's a Bug's Life
As Twits and Tweets aren't really my thing and my attention span is longer than 30 seconds, my eye and mind find other things to pay attention to. Take for example the following two little nature movies of a few moments in the lives of bugs. Unfortunately, the end is nigh in both instances but interesting nonetheless, at least to me. I'm sometimes quite impressed with what this IPhone can capture but I otherwise loathe the device.
